INTERNETSPEED PULSE · FAQ

Good questions. Clear answers.

Answers about test modes, server selection, connection detection and saving results.

Updated November 7, 2026

Is the test free?

Yes. No account is required. The test transfers synthetic traffic, so your internet or mobile provider may charge for the bandwidth you use.

Which connection mode should I use?

Start with Single for a simple baseline. Multi uses four parallel requests, which may better reveal aggregate available capacity on some paths. Compare like-for-like results: keep the same mode, device and server when tracking changes.

Can I choose a server in a particular city?

You can choose Cloudflare’s speed measurement endpoint or InternetSpeed Pulse’s hosting edge. Both use automatic routing; this site cannot force a city or access Ookla’s proprietary server network. The selected destination is used for the actual transfers.

Why are the provider and test server different?

The provider label describes the network your connection comes from. The test server is the destination receiving measurement traffic. The panel looks up the provider through our host, and keeps those details out of saved results.

Does my history sync between devices?

No. If enabled, up to ten completed results stay in this browser. You can export them as CSV or clear them. Private browsing and browser storage settings may prevent persistence.

Why did my test stop or fail?

Requests can time out or be blocked by a VPN, content blocker, network or measurement endpoint. Partial results are marked incomplete and cannot be saved or exported. Try the other server, pause competing transfers and repeat.

What does the language switch translate?

The speed test controls and connection panel support English and Arabic. The guides and policy pages are currently in English.

Why can a gigabit line show a lower number?

This is a bounded browser test, not a line certification. Payload size, request overhead, device performance, Wi-Fi and server routing can all limit the measured result. Repeat under controlled conditions and compare another test if needed.
